To ensure that your molds and fixtures last a long time and maintain high quality castings, follow a few simple rules:
πΉ Do not overheat
Molds:
The pouring temperature should not exceed 90–100°C. This is especially important when working with wax or soap - overheating reduces the service life of the mold. The general temperature resistance of our molds is from -40°C to +200°C.
Formwork:
The material is sensitive to prolonged exposure to temperatures above +40–65°C. Avoid storing or using in direct sunlight, near batteries, ovens or other heat sources - the material may deform.
πΉ Use Silicone Spray
Before pouring wax into a silicone mold, we recommend lubricating it with silicone spray. It prevents wax from sticking to the mold walls, thereby extending the life of the mold.
πΉ Carefully remove products
Do not pull on small elements. To avoid breakage, remove the finished product by carefully turning the mold with effort, but without jerking.
πΉ Wash by hand
Use warm water and mild soap or dishwashing detergent, both for molds and plastic formwork/holders.
Do not use hard brushes, abrasives or aggressive chemicals.
After plaster castings, silicone spray helps well - it cleans the surface of pigments and maintains the elasticity of the material.
πΉ Avoid damage and deformation
Molds:
Do not store the molds in an inverted state.
Do not press them with heavy objects, do not put the molds on top of each other.
Do not cut or pierce with sharp tools - this can lead to deformation that cannot be restored to its original state.
Formwork:
Molds that include a formwork kit should be stored directly in it.
Plastic formwork maintains the shape of the mold and prevents it from deforming.
Carefully remove the plastic clips to avoid breakage.
Do not subject to mechanical stress.
Do not bend or squeeze plastic parts. Plastic is flexible, but can crack under uneven pressure or in areas with thin walls.
πΉ Store correctly
Molds:
Avoid direct sunlight and hot surfaces.
Store molds in a cool place - preferably in a box or fabric bag to protect from dust and accidental damage.
Formwork:
The ideal place is a cool, dry, shaded environment, without temperature changes. Avoid tight stacking or pressure - prolonged loading can change the shape.
